Welcome back to Endeavor Talks with…!

This time, we had the chance to sit down with Laura Carpintieri, Co-founder and CMO of Fitprime, a company that has reshaped the corporate wellness landscape. Fresh off its acquisition by Wellhub, a global leader in corporate wellbeing, Fitprime continues its mission to make wellness more accessible and impactful for businesses and their employees.

Today, Laura is leading a team of about 15 people across three departments: marketing, art direction, and customer happiness.

We talked about her journey from an early passion for science and creativity to becoming an entrepreneur, the pivotal moments that led to founding Fitprime, and the challenges of scaling a startup. She also shared valuable insights on building a strong team, the power of mentorship, and the lessons learned from Endeavor’s Elevator program.

Tell us about yourself. Where are you from, and what’s your background?

My name is Laura, I’m 32 years old, and I’m a proud Sicilian. I was born in Siracusa and spent the first 20 years of my life in Ispica, a small town in the south of the island. Growing up in such a small community taught me a lot: on one hand, the value of roots, community, and simplicity; on the other, the constant desire to explore new horizons and challenge myself in different environments.

Since childhood, I’ve had a very lively personality—I was curious and always on the move. At the same time, I’ve always had a strong inclination toward science, partly out of personal passion and partly thanks to my father, who passed on his love for mathematics and physics. This analytical mindset has been invaluable in business, especially when it comes to data-driven decision-making.

At 20, I moved to Rome for a Master’s in Design and Communication at the Accademia Europea. After a brief stint in television production, I realized that wasn’t my path and started working as a Designer and Digital Marketer in an advertising agency specializing in digital consulting and industry events.

It was at one of these events that I discovered the Luiss Startup Program, which was looking for profiles like mine. I decided to apply—without realizing that this choice would radically change my career path.

That’s where I met Matteo Musa, Damiano Rossi, and Gianluca Mozzillo  —who would later become my co-founders. Together, we launched Fitprime.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Honestly, becoming an entrepreneur was never part of my plan.

At the beginning, Fitprime was more of an experiment—something we were passionate about, but we hadn’t fully realized how big it could become. The moment we all decided to leave our previous jobs and dedicate ourselves 100% to this project, the perspective shifted: it was no longer just an idea, but a true bet on ourselves.

What really pushed me to continue down this path was a mix of elements: the passion for what we were building, the thrill of solving problems and tackling new challenges every day, and the excitement of seeing our work turn into something concrete and impactful.

I truly believe that what made Fitprime special from the start was our team spirit. We weren’t just colleagues—we were a tight-knit group, where mutual support was the foundation of everything. This is something that is often underestimated in startups, but for us, it was critical in overcoming challenges. Considering that we weren’t friends or even knew each other before founding the company, I always think that was a real stroke of luck!

You participated in Elevator, our startup program, in 2023. What did you take away from the experience?

Elevator was an incredibly enriching and stimulating experience, both professionally and personally. From the very first workshop, you could feel a unique energy: a mix of knowledge-sharing, ambition, and a hunger to grow, surrounded by other entrepreneurs facing the same daily challenges, all with that same fire in their eyes—the drive to make a difference.

One of the most valuable aspects was access to top-tier mentors—people who had built global companies and who, with remarkable generosity, shared insights, mistakes, and winning strategies.

I had the privilege of learning from incredible people—from founders and chairmen of major companies to experts in often-overlooked yet fundamental areas like nonverbal communication and effective leadership.

In particular, my meeting with Jeff Cabili, a professor at Stanford, opened my eyes to the power of body language and voice in leading a team and communicating with impact. Similarly, Ben Lamorte’s workshop on OKRs was a game-changer in refining our approach to goal setting and structured growth.

Beyond the practical knowledge, Elevator gave me something even deeper: the realization that building something great requires surrounding yourself with the right people.

Engaging with other founders, each with different stories and backgrounds, made me understand just how crucial networking, mutual support, and learning from others are in overcoming entrepreneurial challenges.

After Elevator, you started the selection process to become an Endeavor Entrepreneur, and later Fitprime was acquired by an Endeavor company. Can you tell us about your experience?

Becoming Endeavor Entrepreneurs was an ambitious goal for us. We knew that Endeavor only selects companies with a strong impact, and beyond the prestige of the recognition, what mattered most to us was joining a global ecosystem of entrepreneurs and industry leaders.

That said, what we’ve achieved in the meantime is just as significant: Fitprime’s acquisition by Wellhub, an Endeavor company and a global leader in corporate wellbeing, marks a historic moment for us.

This journey has taught me that success is never a destination—it’s a continuous process of evolution and growth.
